Sessions typically begin with connection and regulation, allowing the learner to settle into the environment and build rapport. Skill-building activities are then embedded into meaningful, motivating tasks aligned with the learner’s individualized ABA goals.
Activities may include ground-based horsemanship, mounted work, games, or functional life skills, depending on the learner’s program. Data is collected throughout the session, and programming is adjusted over time based on progress and clinical oversight.
Sessions conclude with a supportive transition and documentation, ensuring continuity of care and data-informed decision-making across sessions.
All individual session formats are delivered under the supervision of a RASP-A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and follow individualized ABA programming.
NOTE: Equine ABA is not therapeutic riding, and riding is not a core component of the program. Riding is not guaranteed for any learner.

Ground-based sessions focus on individualized ABA programming delivered primarily through unmounted activities. Programming may include grooming, leading, barn routines, games, and functional tasks aligned with the learner’s goals.
Some lead line riding may be included, however, riding is not independent and remains fully supported.
Delivered under BCBA supervision.
Initial assessment and program development are billed separately.

Mounted sessions integrate individualized ABA programming into mounted activities. Sessions typically include 20–30 minutes of riding instruction, with additional time dedicated to regulation, transitions, and goal-based activities on and off the horse.
This format is appropriate for learners who can participate in mounted work with support while developing riding-related and functional skills.
Delivered under BCBA supervision.
Initial assessment and program development are billed separately.

Extended mounted sessions allow additional time for regulation, transitions, and skill development within the session. This format may include additional riding time and expanded opportunities to target individualized goals without time pressure.
This session length may be beneficial for learners who prefer a slower pace, require additional support, or have goals best addressed over a longer session.
Delivered under BCBA supervision.
Initial assessment and program development are billed separately.

Each camp runs 4 days, for three hours each day.
We break into smaller groups to work on social skills, social-emotional learning, and introductory horsemanship. We play games, make crafts, and learn from our horse teachers on the ground. We also offer our day campers daily lead line or independent rides.
As always, we ensure a minimum ratio of 3 students to one staff member.
Our programs are developed with neurodivergent students in mind, however, this camp is open to all.

Pony Pals is a 6 week long, 45 minute preschool aged program designed to introduce children to the basics of horses through fun. Students engage in activities as a team, discovering how to interact with, groom and care for our ponies in a supportive environment.
*This program does not include riding, as our insurance only covers ages 4+ however, if all students registered are over the age of 4, we can accommodate pony rides.

Home behaviour consultation services including student support plan development, in-home overlaps with home BI, program development and updating programs, meetings, and other administrative tasks.
*Please note: We only have space for students who require services during school hours in our home program support at this time.
All programs at True Colours Consulting require the supervision of a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) at this time. Frequency of overlaps with the BCBA is dependent on the individual assessment and goals set out by the True Colours Team.
