At True Colours Consulting, we provide trauma-informed, equine assisted services that honour each child's voice, autonomy and joy. We are committed to a child-first, consent-based model rooted in the PFA-SBT framework, while recognizing and addressing the history of harm in traditional ABA. As a neurodivergent-led team, we prioritize safety, relationships and respect in every interaction - with horses as our co-regulators and partners in growth.

Our team brings together decades of combined experience in applied behaviour analysis, therapeutic support and neurodiversity-affirming practice. Each and every team member shares a deep passion for creating safe, joyful and meaningful experiences for children of all ages.
Where it all began....
It all started with a dream...
True Colours' Origin Story
True Colours all started with a girl named Tina who fell in love. She went on her first trail ride in the Cariboo at seven years old. Despite being drenched in heavy rain, she was hooked.
Fast forward fourteen years later, while working on her psychology undergrad, Tina started volunteering at a therapeutic riding facility to reignite her love of horses. This is where she discovered her true passion. While observing the growth of the learners at the facility, Tina was inspired to pursue an opportunity to work with autistic and neurodiverse learners. Tina then began her growing journey in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
An idea was born...
What would happen if the science of applied behaviour analysis and the magic of horses was one...
Upon completing her Master's degree and passing the board exam, Tina let her dreams soar.
...this is where True Colours' journey took flight.
At last, True Colours joined the humans and horses to let their True Colours shine.
At True Colours, we combine ABA therapy and equine therapy into a truly unique experience for all learners. So unique that, to our knowledge, True Colours has the only board-certified behaviour analyst offering programs of this nature in British Columbia.
We are looking forward to building our presence in the community and growing the population of humans and horses we support, and creating a home for all involved.
